About Ardoch Youth Foundation
Ardoch's vision is to ensure every child and young person's potential is realised through full participation in education. We recognise that poverty and disadvantage can often act as barriers to education, making it difficult for students to access education and can lead to poor school attendance, school disengagement and early school leaving.
We respond by linking schools, communities and businesses and generating resources to:

Ardoch's Work in the West
Ardoch Youth Foundation's LinCS 'Linking Communities and Schools' Project in Melbourne's West currently involves two kindergartens, six primary schools and one secondary school. Ardoch works in partnership with Sunshine Kindergarten, Sunshine North Kindergarten, Ardeer Primary School, Dinjerra Primary School, Sunshine Harvester Primary School, Sunshine Primary School, Sunshine North Primary School, Albion North Primary School and Sunshine College (West Campus).

Brimbank Youth Services YMCA
Creating Opportunities for Young People in Brimbank
Brimbank Youth Services YMCA provide programs at no charge to all young people between the ages of 12-25 years old who live, work, study or recreate in Brimbank.

Centre for Multicultural Youth - CMY
Specialists in assisting those from Asylum Seeking and/or Refugee Backgrounds
The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) provides support to young people and their families aged 12-21 who have been in Australia for less than 10 years.
CMY provide confidential support and information regarding; education, family, centrelink, recreation, accommodation and referral, employment and legal issues.

The Centre for Multi-Cultural Youth Issues provide support to young people who may be having - family, education, employment issues.
CMYI also provide support to young people at risk of homelessness and they assist links with community and personal support.
The Centre for Multi-Cultural Youth Issues will assist young people from Brimbank, Moonee Valley, Hume and City of Greater Dandenong.
This service is a free service to all young people.

Centrelink Community Team
Assisting those in need
The Centrelink Community Team is located within the Visy Cares Hub every Monday afternoon after 2pm.
Centrelink Community Team assists those young peope with complex needs and who are 'difficult to reach' and who find it difficult to access the services of Centreling independently.
The young people accessing the service need to be 'at risk' of becoming homeless, or are 'homeless', dealing with a drug and.or alcohol problem or experiencing problems in relation to mental health and/or are currently involved in the justice system.
Appointments need to be made through the reception at the Visy Cares Hub on (03)9091-8200 or you can email them at info@youthjunctioninc.net.au. Most appointments will take 30minutes, and they need to be made a day in advance.
This is a free service to all young people and it is a great way to obtain information about Centrelink that a young person may not have felt comfortable obtaining within a Centrelink Centre.
Melbourne Citymission
Job Services Australia
Service Overview
Melbourne Citymission (MCM) has been successful in its contract with the Department of Education, Employment & Work Place Relations (DEEWR) to deliver the new Job Services Australia contract from June 2009-June 2012. This service will be offered to young people in the Employment Services Areas of the Westgate (incl. Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Wyndham and Maribyrnong) and Yarra (incl. Melbourne, Port Philip and Yarra).
MCM will receive referrals from Centrelink for young people across four streams of job readiness, ranging from those who are job ready through to those with significant vocational and non vocational barriers. Each of the sites are staffed with qualified Case Managers who have direct experience in vocational counselling and case management with young people.
Services Provided
Melbourne Citymission will provide direct vocational guidance to young people so that each individal will have an Employment Pathway Plan (EPP) tailored to the needs of each young person's vocational goals.
Utilise MCM's Suite of pre-employment/life skills projects, personal development and skill support services and external agencies to provide young people with a transitional approach to employment, education and training outcomes and work experience.
Provide post placement support services to assist young people to retain their employment, education and training placements.
Provide a holistic case management approach ensuring that non vocational barriers are identified early and young people are linked into appropriate support services,
Liaise, network and negotiate with educational and training providers, community and government agencies forming partnershups that will foster positive outcomes for young people in achieving their goals.
Target Audience
Melbourne Citymission, Job Services Australia, is a specialist provider focusing on Youth at Risk between the ages of 15-25 and it is a FREE Service!
Referral Process
The process of referrals to access MCM Job Services Australia can be self referral, other agencies including other Job Networks Providers who wish to transfer the client who they feel would be better serviced by our specialist holistic approach and Centrelink.
If an agency feels that a young person would benefit from being linked into a youth specialist Job Agency the first point of call would be contacting a site nearest to where the young person resides and discussing the matter with a Case Manager.

Robert Stary & Associates
Criminal Lawyers
Robert Stary and Associates are widely recognised as specialists in criminal law in all courts.
Robert Stary and Associates will assist young people of any age, with issues realating to criminal activity.
The young people attending are required to go through an application process, if requesting legal aid, otherwise this service is fee based.
There are two criminal law specialists based at the Visy Cares Hub.
Alongside this, the firm will offer advice, advocacy and assistance and provide a space for Youthlaw to offer civil law support to young people.

Sunshine Youth Housing
Youth Housing Specialists
Sunshine Youth Housing provides information and advice to young people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Sunshine Youth Housing also provide assistance to young people aged 15-25years, in securing long term housing i.e private rental, public housing and social housing, including rooming houses.
Sunshine Youth Housing support young people with living independently i.e accessing income support and assistance with budgeting, employment, education and training.
Sunshine Youth Housing will advocate on behalf of the young person to other agencies such as Office of Housing, legal services, Centrelink, schools, local youth services, council etc. Along with advocating, Sunshine Youth Housing will send referrals to health practitioners, drug and alcohol services and mental health services on behalf of the young people attending their service, as well as teaching those young people personal development skills. Outreach is also available. This service is a free service to all young people accessing the service.

Sunshine Youth Legal Centre
FREE Legal Advice for Young People
The Sunshine Youth Legal Centre is a free legal centre for young people from the Western Suburbs of Melbourne.
The Sunshine Youth Legal Centre will provide legal advice, legal education and referral services to disadvantaged young people. They will also develop the legal skills and experience of Victoria University students and participate in advocacy programs in relation to law reform and socail justoce campaigns for legal issues affecting young people.

Transitional Support
Victoria University at the Visy Cares Hub in Sunshine offers a portal to young people between the ages of 15 and 25 years and those agencies supporting young people, to access support in transitioning or returning to education, training and employment options.
Victoria University aims to assist young people by helping them overcome their immediate barriers to their participation in education training or employment. The program will provide coordinated intake to VU with supported referrals and case management of referred prospective students.
